Steilacoom Garden Club Annual Event: Our annual plant sale is always the Saturday before Mother's Day. Location: Beside the Bair Drug and Hardware Store from 9:00 to 12:00. Like the Town of Steilacoom, the Steilacoom Garden Club has a long, event filled history. Our (currently) over 30 members are interested in learning about plants and improving our gardening skills. We also work for the preservation and conservation of the natural beauty and resources of Steilacoom, cooperating in efforts of civic beautification. The Garden Club welcomes all who have an interest in gardening. Our meetings are held September through June. Unless otherwise published, we meet at the Steilacoom Community Center at 9:30 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Meeting programs vary -- employing talents of club members, guest speakers, and occasional trips to nearby gardens, greenhouses, etc. We have no dues, but do raise funds via an annual plant sale to which members donate plants. Proceeds from our Plant Sale are used for creating and maintaining the hanging baskets placed in front of the businesses in town during the summer and the swags created for the businesses during the Christmas holidays. We also maintain the gardens next to the Bair Store and Post Office. We are not affiliated with any other garden clubs.
